Who the DC One is made for

What's inside

The technology that matters for espresso.

Grinding unit

65 mm, specially developed

Flat burrs with 65 Millimetern for a precise cut and an even particle distribution in the espresso range. 1,350 revolutions per minute, around 4 Gramm per Sekunde.

Dosing

To the thousandth of a second

The grind time is adjustable to 1/1000 of a second. The portafilter detection automatically distinguishes single and double, so there is no wrong dose because someone pressed the wrong button.

Grind setting

Electronic, with parallel suspension

Stepless electronic adjustment. A special suspension keeps the burrs parallel, reducing dose fluctuations. GAS and BCS are included.

Temperature

Automatic cooling with two measurement points

Sensors at two points control the cooling and protect the ground coffee and burrs from overheating. With high throughput the grind size therefore remains stable throughout the day.

Connectivity

GCS on the XT

Up to three DC One units can be connected to an XT, and one each to EVO 2 and Mina. When connected, the grinder corrects the grind itself if the coffee changes over the course of the day.

What matters for the grinder

What matters for this grinder.

The numbers from the data sheet, in the order that matters. A faster grinder does not grind better, it only grinds more.

65 mm

Large burrs, cooler grounds

The larger the burrs, the fewer revolutions are needed for the same amount of coffee. The grounds heat up less, and heat in the ground coffee costs aroma. Installed are Flat ø.

4,5 s

How long a dose takes

For 18 g of coffee, calculated from 4 g per second. For a single drink you hardly notice it: brewing and milk foam take longer than grinding. For 50 drinks during peak time that is about 3 minutes less grinding time than the mid-range of our assortment.

23,5 × 30 cm

This is how much space it needs

These are 705 square centimeters of counter that are permanently occupied. At 57 cm height you need space above it for refilling.

All values come from the data sheet of this device. If a specification is missing, it is not listed here.

From our roastery

The matching espresso, freshly roasted.

Three varieties that we have dialed in on exactly this machine. Start recipe included.

All coffee beans in our range are organic.

Ätna Organic Espresso, dark roasted Ätna Organic Espresso, dark roasted

The house espresso for service: dark chocolate, nougat, roasted hazelnut, dense crema and very little acidity. Holds up to milk without disappearing in a cappuccino. Full-bodied roast, therefore pull cooler and shorter.

Start recipe: 17–18 g in the double basket → 34–38 g in 25–28 s, 91–92 °C, finely ground

Mount Everest organic espresso blend from five origins Mount Everest organic espresso blend from five origins

Chocolatey base from Brazil, bright stone fruit from Ethiopia, clear fruit and structure from Honduras. The second coffee on the menu when guests ask for something different.

Start recipe: 17–18 g in the double basket → 36–40 g (Brew Ratio 1:2 to 1:2.3) in 28–32 s

Hornisgrinde Organic Espresso, Single Origin Brazil Hornisgrinde Organic Espresso, Single Origin Brazil

Marzipan, milk chocolate, vanilla on the finish. Rounded body, soft texture, very little acidity. The mild option for guests who find the house espresso too strong.

Start recipe: 17–18 g in the double basket → 36–40 g (Brew Ratio 1:2 to 1:2.3) in 28–32 s

Beans ship free with the machine and come from the same roast week.
